담임목사 소개

어린 시절 성령 하나님을 깊이 체험하신 어머님을 통해 열정적이고 헌신적인 신앙을 훈련받았습니다. 그러나 의심과 갈등이 많아 대학에 입학하여 민주화로 몸살을 앓는 사회현실과 신앙의 실천 사이에서 갈등하고 방황하다가 하나님을 부인하는 신앙의 위기를 맞게 되었습니다. 그러나 군 복무 중 말씀을 통해 찾아오신 예수님을 인격적으로 깊이 만나고 감격하여 삶을 하나님께 드리기로 약속하였습니다. 한국에서 경영학을 전공한 후 필리핀 선교지에서 목회자로 소명을 받았습니다. 풀러 신학교(Mdiv)와 칼빈 신학교(Th.M)에서 목회학과 조직신학을 전공했고 트리니티 신학교에서 변형학습과 조직문화에 대한 연구로 Ph.D를 마쳤습니다. ANC 온누리교회, 칼라마주 한인교회, 시카고 온누리교회 등 다양한 이민교회에서 목회했으며 2011년 갈보리 교회의 6대 담임목사로 부임하였습니다. 예수 그리스도의 하나님 나라 복음은 개인과 공동체와 사회를 치유하고 회복시키며 변혁하는 하나님의 능력임을 확신하여 갈보리 교회가 소그룹을 중심으로 한 선교적 교회로 성숙해가는 소망을 가지고 있습니다. 사랑하는 아내와 두 딸이 있으며 자연 속에서 걷거나 달리는 것을 좋아합니다.

DAN & ESTHER JIN
My name is Dan and I am the associate pastor for Calvary Church, serving in my fifth year of ministry here. Currently I pastor to youth and college group and also support church administration. I am married to Esther and we have two boys, Joshua and Caleb.
I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior during my college years. While I was studying at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign to go into business world, I soon left that world to answer God's calling to ministry. I am a graduate of Trinity International University (BA Pastoral '11), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MDiv '14) and ordained minister in KAPC.
It is a great joy to witness the power of the gospel changing the lives of people around me. I find our ministry very exciting as God continuously blesses us with many opportunities to proclaim the message of the risen Christ as we strive to live our lives as disciples of Jesus.
I enjoy playing sports and traveling to new places to experience different cultures. I am a passionate supporter of Chicago Bulls.
